Some Stories Are So Good…

 

Some stories are so good, only God could write them…

That’s exactly what has happened in the last few weeks as Vortex Church launched
in Albemarle, NC.

The simple truth is this: God has done something completely amazing.

Personally, September 9th was one of the most incredible days of my entire life. On that day something that Jesus began in my heart over two years earlier came alive.

While it’s rewarding to believe in something, sacrifice for it, and work faithfully to see a vision become a reality… let me confirm a suspicion you might have already:
Vortex is being built by Jesus.

What is happening at Vortex is so far beyond me.
We have an amazing staff, but what is happening is far beyond our staff.
Our volunteer team is simply amazing, but… this story is bigger than all of us.

On September 9th, 243 people assembled to celebrate Jesus in our first public worship service. That number is simply humbling, but it’s what Jesus has done… not us.

On our first Sunday Jesus saved 15 people! Since then we’ve experienced salvations each week. In our first six weeks at Vortex, 23 people have given their lives to Jesus… many of them for the FIRST TIME!

I want to thank the many of you that have prayed for Vortex. Prayer is born out of the realization that God alone can do what we’re asking, and it’s so obvious that God is up to something amazing at Vortex.

I’m humbled that God would allow me to lead such a precious group of people.
It’s truly an honor to be their Pastor.

The story that God’s writing at Vortex isn’t over… in fact, its just starting! I honestly can’t wait to see what He does, because the greatest stories are written by Jesus.

Over the last few months I’ve been obsessed with this small passage of scripture. It’s what God is continually convincing us of, and a prayer that we all need to pray occasionally:
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge–that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” (Ephesians 3:16-21)

This story HAS been more than we could have ever asked, dreamed, or imagined. Let Jesus get ALL the honor, the glory, and praise for what is happening at Vortex Church!

It’s His story, and His stories are always amazing.
